MP International, part of the Pico Group, has acquired "a significant stake" in FUTR Group, formerly known as Millennial 20/20. The company puts on the FUTR consumer retail and innovation conference, held annually in New York, London and Singapore.

Co-founders Rupa Ganatra and Simon Berger will continue to lead FUTR following the acquisition. The group said FUTR Summit will add new locations in 2020, while its past conferences hosted 3,000 delegates every year including those from brands and retailers. Among the sectors covered in the conference are advertising, AR, AI, data marketing and robotics.

MP International, which like FUTR is Singapore-based, has a few high-profile projects listed on its portfolio including retrofiting and managing the International Media Centre at the Kim-Trump Summit in Singapore last year.

Jason Ng, executive director of MP International, said the acquisition of FUTR was based on "great synergy" between the two companies. "Using our combined knowledge and experience with innovation, future trends and insights across multiple industry sectors, platforms and territories, we will further expand the value proposition of FUTR for our clients," he said.

Ganatra said the move will take FUTR to the next level, especially Asia.
