GOLD WINNER: Marine Debatte, Head of Events, BI Worldwide

Marine Debatte launched her career in the events world by founding Shanghai’s first professional hospitality agency, French Touch.

Four years later, her company was bought over by an event agency which led to six pavilions at the Shanghai World Expo in 2010. She also went on to produce international events such as the Nanjing G20 Seminar and competitions such as Bocuse d’Or Asia.

Moving to BI Worldwide, she strived to carry through the values she learned in her time in the industry: to make a lasting impact on people through events by engaging people, service, and quality.

Whether Debatte does this on-site or by discovering unique destinations for clients, clients and participants have often come back with positive feedback.

In 2017 and back from her second pregnancy, Debatte led the APAC team in Shanghai and Singapore to win multiple pitches and helped produce major events in record timing. Proof is in the events program that was three times busier than the previous fiscal year.

On top of that, Debatte finds time to advocate causes she feels strongly about, namely women’s representation in the industry and the vegan movement.
