Panasonic Toughbook H2 tablet comes out fighting

Panasonic's 10.1-inch Toughbook H2 may look like a cross between a Speak & Spell and a concept tablet from the 90s, but despite its Fisher Price aesthetics, it's packing some impressive tech. The extra-durable tablet is a Windows 7 machine with a 1.7GHz Intel Core i5 processor, replacing the Atom CPU of its predecessor, making it more powerful, according to Panasonic, by a factor of five. LG DX2000 3D glasses-free monitor incoming

Just bought yourself a 3DTV? Now it's time to upgrade your monitor – to the LG DX2000. The 20in screen uses a parallax barrier (no, not the bad guy in Green Lantern but the layer that allows dual-image display) and an eye-tracking camera. This combination means you can be jumping up and down for joy while watching Star Wars on your monitor (which converts 2D to 3D) and it will adapt to follow you as Luke lays an explosive one in his dad’s Death Star. We're not promising Word in 3D will be exciting, though...

Leica to launch mirrorless compact system camera

Leica is planning to join the compact system camera bandwagon, according to its CEO, Alfred Schopf. Talking to the British Journal of Photography, Schopf said, "It's more than an idea. You will see something at the next Photokina." He also confirmed it'd use an APS-C sensor size at the least, so possibly there's thought of using the full frame from the Leica M9-P.  Read more...

Starting at a wallet-straining £1800 (plus £100 for the pictured mocha finish) and reaching £2200 for the optional DR+ hard drive model, it’s safe to say that Loewe’s luxurious stance on pricing has remained unchanged. Still, if you’re looking to sprinkle a bit of class in to your living room alcove then this may prove the perfect solution. See photo...

Microsoft shows off Samsung Windows Phone Mango handset

In the two-horse smartphone race between Android phones and iPhones, it's easy to forget the Lib Dems of the mobile world. Yesterday, Microsoft put on a bit of a sprint, announcing not one but four new Windows Phone Mango handsets. The headliner was a Samsung handset, thought to be the SGH-i937, a phone that bears more than a passing resemblance to the Samsung Galaxy S II. The Samsung smartphone also looks like it has a front facing camera, which could hint that rumours of a Windows 8 video calling service named Chatter are true. Read more...
