New MacBook Pros arrive packing next-gen Intel chips and AMD graphics

Apple’s souped up its MacBook Pros with the latest Intel dual and quad-core processors, AMD graphics and Thunderbolt 10Gbps connectivity. The 13in MBP comes with a choice of meaty dual-core Core i5 or i7 innards running at up to 2.7GHz with Intel HD Graphics 3000. The new 15in and 17in versions run powerhouse quad-core Core i7s, cranking up to 2.3GHz and backed (a bit surprisingly) by AMD Radeon HD graphics with up to 1GB video RAM. Read more...
 
Android 2.3.3 update is coming to the Nexus One and Nexus S

Gingerbread is coming to the Nexus One for thefirst time while Nexus S owners will be getting a few additional features and bug fixes in the 2.3.3 version. Google plan to send out the update over-the-air (OTA) sometime in the next few weeks.

Key developments include no more random reboots for the Nexus S anymore, a redesigned keyboard will offer easier touchscreen typing and an improved app management system with a new app that keeps you in the loop with downloads. Read more...

Battery life and notebooks have been at war since the first PC was made mobile. Sony’s solution to help batteries get a boost in the battle? Add more. The latest 24mm slim, 1.75Kg S Series has a seven-hour battery life that comes with another battery that can be clipped on without removing the first, giving you another 7 hours of Stamina Mode life. Three Apple rumours doing the rounds

Rumour 2 – white iPhone 5: Bearing in mind the white iPhone 4 has yet to hit the pockets of anyone who hasn’t had dinner with Steve Jobs, news of an ivoire iPhone 5 are probably exaggerated.Rumour 1 – iPad 2: Apparently, Apple’s being asking its shop staff to sign non-disclosure (confidentiality) agreements before meetings.

Rumour 3 – iTunes 24-bit: Just finished converting all your music library into crispy 320Kbps? Bad luck. Word is that Apple and other digital music retailers are looking at bumping file quality up to 24-bit.
