Spotify launches Play Button to easily add music to websites

Spotify has announced the launch of its new Spotify Play Button, a widget which lets you inject songs and playlists directly into your website or blog – where people can then stream them legally, for free. The button is also integrated into the Tumblr dashboard, meaning that Tumblr users simply have to type in the song or album of their choosing to access and embed the widget. Read more...

RIM to update Android app side-loading for BlackBerry PlayBook

RIM has confirmed that it will be updating the BlackBerry PlayBook's Android app side-loading feature to offer better protection for developers, by only letting users who purchased their apps to install them on the tablet. This follows speculation that RIM would be pulling Android app support thanks to a tweet from inside RIM stating that "Piracy is a huge problem for Android devs, and we don't want to duplicate the chaotic cesspool of Android market". Hands up who was still hoping for the completely redesigned iPhone 5 when Tim Cook first stuck an image of the iPhone 4S on screen last year. In your defence, sometimes it's just more exciting when the outsides of gadgets change along with those hidden spec bumps.

Fifth-generation iPod Touch on the way

The current iPod Touch is getting a bit long in the tooth, with Apple only adding a lick of white paint to distinguish last year's refresh from the previous year's model.
