IT fair sees growth in Ho Chi Minh City

HO CHI MINH CITY The tenth Vietnam Computerworld Expo was held at Ho Chi Minh City's International Fair and Convention Centre from July 7-10.

More than 200 foreign and local companies took part in the four-day event, organised by IDG World Expo (Asia), the HCM City Computer Association (HCA) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). Organisers estimated about 150,000 people visited the expo. According to organisers, the number of participants and the size of the exhibition was 20 per cent larger than last year's. Multinationals represented at the event include HP, Sony, Fujifilm, Canon, Samsung, Epson, Intel, Toshiba, Panasonic, TCL and Lexmark. One of the main show sponsors, Canon, built a 144 sqm pavilion. The fair occupied a total space of around 6,000sqm.
