The world’s longest red packet? Hmm, how about the fattest instead?

From Taipei: 'World’s longest red-envelope' for Balvenie by MRM McCann.

The world’s longest red packet? Hmm, how about the fattest instead?

It’s two more days to Chinese New Year, but Ad Nut has a bit of CNY-fatigue after half a January of receiving so many words of blessing.

Specifically, this year is the Year of the Red Fire Monkey, and heaps of brands have released various themed products that sometimes do not suggest anything about the primate except that the brands say so.

Whiskey brand Balvenie has come up with what it calls the world’s longest red envelope—longest in the sense of having 100 different good-fortune greetings packaged in it.

The MRM team collaborated with Chen Yan Ting, a paper-cutting master, who created 100 renditions of “富/Fu” characters.

It's mainly a digital execution, so please click here.

It's not really "on brand" or even "on animal", but it is all good in the spirit of the Chinese New Year.

Ad Nut is indulging in all the blessings of becoming plentiful, wealthy and rich. But 100 acorns stuffed into a fat envelope would do just as well!
