Yellow Pages dominates at 2010 Digital Media Awards

BEIJING - BBDO Colenso/ Aim Proximity took home the prestigious Platinum award at the 2010 Campaign Asia-Pacific Digital Media Awards, held last night at the Grand Millennium Hotel in Beijing, for its work for Yellow Pages in New Zealand.

BBDO Colenso/ Aim Proximity picked up the award for its ‘Yellow chocolate’ campaign for Yellow Pages. The agency was awarded the Platinum award in 2009 for ‘Yellow treehouse’ for the same client.

Yellow Pages was also named the Digital Brand of the Year, while ‘Yellow chocolate’ picked up gold awards in the Best Media Innovation and Best Integrated categories.

In the other major awards of the night, Ogilvy One/ Neo@Ogilvy Beijing picked up the trophy for Digital Agency of the Year, while in one of three new people categories Amanda King, president of Tribal DDB Asia-Pacific, was named Digital Agency Head of the Year.

Elsewhere, Matt Batten from Wunderman Australia was named Digital Creative of the Year and Aryeh Sternberg took the award for Digital Rising Star of the Year.

The Digital Media Awards honours the best in digital marketing and communications in the Asia Pacific region, highlighting breakthrough work that demonstrates outstanding creativity and effectiveness across the industry.

The award show is now in its fourth year and this year saw a record number of entries — 644, an almost 50 per cent increase from the previous year. Overall, 63 awards were given out on the night, including 11 gold, 19 silver, 27 bronze.
