Astro World and Kalaignar TV debuts on SingTel's mioTV

SINGAPORE - SingTel's mioTV has expanded its Malay and Tamil-language entertainment offering by launching Astro World and Kalaignar TV.

The two channels will be made available in mid-October.

Kalaignar TV is a 24-hour Tamil-language general entertainment channel, while Astro World consolidates the best of Astro Ria and Astro Aruna while offering on-demand viewing.

Launched in 2007 in Chennai, Kalaignar TV is one of the top three channels in India, offering a variety of Tamil movies, drama serials, reality shows, game shows, comedy, lifestyle magazines and talk shows.

Astro World offers the best programmes from Astro Ria and Aruna. As a catch-up channel, viewers can enjoy past episodes or dramas and shows at their convenience.

Last week, SingTel announced it had won the rights to the Barclays Premier League (BPL) matches for three years commencing August 2010.
