BBDO/Proximity appoints Oliver Xu MD of Beijing

SHANGHAI - BBDO/Proximity China has bolstered its senior management team through the hire of Oliver Xu (pictured), who will assume the newly created post of MD of BBDO Beijing.

Xu joins from JWT Beijing, where he held a parallel role after a promotion last year. He was at JWT for five-and-a-half years.

Xu is charged with managing BBDO Beijing’s key clients, including Mercedes-Banz, Hewlett-Packard and Bayer, as well as driving business development and operations. He will work closely with ECD Danny Chan and reports to Carol Potter, CEO of BBDO China, stationed in the agency's Shanghai office.

Xu has been in the industry for 16 years, working at Ogilvy Mather and TBWA in the past. He has additionally worked with international and local brands across the IT, telecom, auto, finance services, FMCG and food and beverage industries.

He has also held marketing roles at Visa and Nabisco.
