CCTV.com to set up internet TV station

BEIJING - CCTV.com is planning to construct an internet TV station, according to a report from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (Sarft). Reports in China state that CCTV.com is determining the station's positioning, setting main objectives and specifying stages of development.

Recently, CCTV.com announced that it would be working together with a market research firm to survey user requirements for a national online TV station. At the same time, it will start constructing of an online video-sharing platform, and has formed a strategic cooperation with China Mobile.
