Dentsu Aegis Network has appointed Jennifer Tang as the agency’s Taiwan CEO, effective 10 April.

Tang arrives from Ogilvy & Mather Taiwan, where she spent more than 22 years. She was the group’s youngest ever managing director.

“I am inspired by the ambitious and innovative culture at Dentsu Aegis Network,” she said. “My goal is to embrace these values and help establish it as the most influential network in Taiwan by helping clients grow their businesses, increase their brand influence, and cultivate industry talents and leaders.”

Tang replaces Isao Miyauchi, who is stepping down and returning to Dentsu in Japan.

Nick Waters, CEO of DAN Asia Pacific, said: “Miyauchi-san has done a super job bringing our group together as one company in Taiwan. We have a very significant business in Taipei and are the market leading group." Tang is a "proven market leader" who will help the company deliver solutions that win for clients, he added.

Rob Hughes, CEO of DAN North Asia, added that Tang’s arrival is key to accelerating DAN’s operating model in Taiwan and developing its strength in the market.

“Taiwan’s interesting because it’s been a bit off the radar, but we have have depth and scale in the market,” he told Campaign Asia-Pacific. “We drive our client business through our brands; it’s absolutely critical, that our clients are happy. But if you’ve got a big team and you’re growing, you bring in another big player.”

Hughes said Tang will seek to drive greater collaboration across DAN in Taiwan, which has helped the network extend its services across different client businesses.

“Our creative is now better informed by data, our media is being helped along by creative,” he said. “What clients in Taiwan might have needed two years ago has completely changed now. We’re excited about the market and rising to the challenge.”
