A spokesperson for Diageo in the UK confirmed that Grayling would retain the external communications component of the brief, headed out of the drink giant’s Singapore headquarters.

Burson-Marsteller has been appointed to “the strategic research and thinking on employee engagement”, the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, Impact Asia has been hired to take care of internal communications.

Diageo’s APAC public relations review was first called in late-January this year and up to four firms were reportedly invited for the pitch.

It is understood that the company’s corporate social responsibility drives and programmes will be a key part of its PR strategy in the region.

Grayling secured Diageo’s regional retainer account following a four-way pitch in February 2006. It has been servicing the wine and spirits firm through its network's offices in Hong Kong and Singapore.
