Digitas has promoted Matt Cullen and Gary Tranter to co-chief creative officers for the region.

In addition, the agency has appointed Craig Howie as executive creative director in Hong Kong.

Cullen and Tranter co-founded creative agency Arcade, in which Publicis acquired a stake in 2014 before taking full ownership at the end of last year. Following this, Cullen and Tranter have now been promoted to chief creative officers at Digitas in addition to their roles at Arcade.

They will report into Annette Male, Digitas APAC CEO, who also oversees Arcade, and Ronald Ng, global chief creative officer.

Male said: “Having Gary and Matt onboard completes our data, tech and creative offering perfectly.”

Howie brings 8 years’ creative experience to his new position, and has worked across Asia in countries including Singapore, Japan, China and Hong Kong. He was previously chief creative officer at J Walter Thompson Hong Kong, and has also worked at BBH, Commonwealth McCann and Tribal DDB.

Howie said he is excited by Digitas’ data capabilities “as it opens up the creative opportunity in ways that will allow us to develop some exciting and differentiated work”.

Cullen and Tranter said:Craig has an impressive track record. We are inspired by the work he has done around the region and excited by what he can bring to the work at Digitas.
