Experience design studio Eight Inc. has hired Andrew Au as its new executive director for the APAC region. Based in Singapore, Au will manage strategic partnerships and business development efforts across the region.

Prior to this role, Au was managing director, Southeast Asia for creative agency Imagination. Before that, he was managing partner for Fluid, an independent creative agency that was acquired by PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 2015. He’s also had experience in senior marketing roles with The Economist Group and Fortune Magazine. On top of that, he sits as vice chair for The Marketing Society.

Au will report to Tim Kobe, founder and CEO of Eight Inc. On the new appointment, Kobe said: “Like our best experience architects and designers, Andrew possesses a certain degree of humility, emotional intelligence and sensitivity in bringing unique insights to the conversation. Designing experience demands diversity; of demographic, discipline, culture and belief. The best designers not only recognise this, they utilise it.”
