MUMBAI - JWT's star chief creative officer, Agnello Dias (pictured), has resigned his position with the agency.

Dias, who played an instrumental role in bagging India's first Grand Prix at Cannes this year for the Times of India 'Lead India' campaign has joined hands with former Leo Burnett colleague Santosh Padhi to start an entrepreneurial venture. The details of the new agency are not yet known.

"I will be at JWT until the first quarter of the next calendar year. We have a succession plan and that is the reason why we are announcing my exit early," said Dias.

JWT has been actively bolstering its creative team in recent months, with Tista Sen being promoted to senior VP and ECD Mumbai, Shamik Sengupta being transferred as head of creative for Kolkata, and Mahendra Bhagat being promoted as NCD, Fortune.
