Mobile advertising firm launches in its second Asia-Pacific market

Kargo moves into New Zealand

US mobile ad tech firm Kargo today announced the opening of new operations in New Zealand.

The launch is Kargo’s fourth global market and second in APAC after Australia, which opened in January. The ad tech platform connects agencies and brands to an invitation-only set of publishers to ensure a safe, rich-media ad environment.

Kargo has hired Tim Richards as sales manager in New Zealand. He joins after two years leading Blis in the country, and previously worked at News Corp and Yahoo. Richards will oversee the expansion of Kargo’s APAC client and publisher relationships.

“I look forward to furthering Kargo’s presence in New Zealand and to help define mobile best practices, enabling advertisers to avoid ad fraud, bots and fake news,” he said. Richards will report to Peter Birch, Kargo’s APAC commercial director.

The New Zealand move is the latest in a busy year for Kargo. On top of the Australia launch, the company grew its workforce by almost 60 percent, and began its programmatic and software businesses.
