UM China appointed Wei in August last year as chief operating officer reporting to Simon Woodward, CEO of UM China. Her appointment at the time followed an even shorter stint at OMG in China as CEO of its buying operation OPera. She joined in May 2010 and news of her new role at UM China broke shortly after in August.

Confirming Wei's departure, Woodward said, “During her time with UM Lisa made many positive contributions, and UM wishes Lisa the best in her future endeavors."

Woodward confirmed that Jacky Tang, MD of Magnaglobal, has been appointed to manage the firm's media investment and negotiating responsibilities with chief strategy officer Amy Peng managing UM's Beijing office.

"UM clients will not experience any disruption in services as Jacky and Amy take on these new roles," he added.

Wei officially joins Aegis Media China on 2 June. She will be responsible for consolidating group resources of all media, enhancing media partners' relationships and creating communication values with innovative media investment management.

“With her strong background in operations, negotiation skills, media relationships, client experience and in-depth knowledge of the China market, Lisa is well equipped to help us drive excellence in media investment and give clients a reason to choose Aegis Media,” said Michelle Lau, COO of Aegis Media China.

Prior to OMG, Wei worked at Mindshare since 1997. She held various senior executive posts at Mindshare and GroupM's office in China, including partner for the Exchange in Beijing. She has 24 years media experience in 4A agencies, including 16 years in China and eight years in Taiwan.
