Dentsu Aegis Network Indonesia will have a new CEO from January 2019, Maya Watono, who takes over from SK Biswas to oversee 900 people and all 15 network and local brands in the country.

Formerly CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Indonesia’s Dwi Sapta Group, where she led double digit growth and tripled the size of the business, Watono is hailed by Phil Teeman, CEO of DAN Southeast Asia, to whom she will report, as a “natural leader” with “strong credentials and relationships in the industry.”

She was named one of Indonesia’s Top 10 CEOs this year by SWA Business Magazine and is also the chairman of International Affairs for the Indonesian Advertising Association.

DAN sees Indonesia as a key market because of thriving innovation among the startup scene and “immense” growth opportunities, according to Teeman.

SK Biswas, who served in the CEO role for just under two years, will move back to Singapore, reportedly to focus on priorities at home.
