McCann Erickson wins Volkswagen Hong Kong

HONG KONG - McCann Erickson Guangming Hong Kong has replaced long-standing incumbent DDB as creative agency-of-record for Volkswagen.

The pitch was believed to have involved Grey, Bravo Asia and WE Marketing.

McCann will handle all its key creative campaigns with Volkswagen’s media partner, Mediacom.

Last year, the Volkswagen Group took over its own dealership from Dah Chong Hong. “Rather than focusing solely on sales like its counterparts, Volkswagen has taken an aggressive approach for its own car branding campaigns for the Hong Kong market, which is quite unusual,” said one inside source.
