Lam will be on board from 21 June, and report to TH Peng, CEO of McCann Worldgroup Greater China. She will work closely with Vincent Tang, ECD of McCann Erickson Shanghai, and form a close alliance with Spencer Wong, national chief creative officer of McCann Erickson China.
Earily this year, Lam resigned from her role as group ECD at TBWA China Shanghai. During her tenure since 2008, she was been dedicated to building strong local teams to champion excellence for leading international brands like adidas, Nivea, McDonald's, Skittles and many more. Under her creative leadership, she helped the agency to beat incumbent Leo Burnett and DDB to consolidate all the above-the-line business for McDonald's China under TBWA's roof.
"I know McCann's culture well and share the common belief with Peng, who himself is a successful creative writer, in championing creative energy, passion, and vibe across all disciplines and departments," said Lam.
A journalist by training, Lam is a multi-award winning ECD in Greater China with 20 years' experience at 4A agencies, including Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett, JWT, Ogilvy and McCann Erickson.
Carol joined McCann Erickson Hong Kong in 2004 as ECD in charge of all the global communications for Cathay Pacific Airways. Under Carol's leadership, McCann Hong Kong landed over 150 creative and marketing effectiveness awards from 2004 to 2007.
"We were always impressed with Carol's uncompromised drive to leading her team in 'making great greater' when she was ECD of the Cathay Pacific Central Team. The Shanghai management team is very excited to see Carol take on this new position at the agency," said Peng.
