Neo@Ogilvy scoops China Telecom's digital media

BEIJING - China Telecom has awarded Neo@Ogilvy its online media business, dislodging incumbent Starcom IP.

Neo@Ogilvy scoops China Telecom's digital media
The China Telecom pitch launched last month and included HYLZ and Allyes. It was said to be focused on China Telecom’s newly launched Tianyi 3G brand.

According to sources close to the business, Neo@Ogilvy won the account because “China Telecom was looking for something from a more creative point of view, and since Ogilvy is overall a creative agency, it took the business from Starcom”.

Although Starcom IP lost the telco’s digital media account, Starcom Beijing will continue handling China Telecom’s offline media planning and buying duties, which it won in March last year.

China Telecom’s creative account is handled by Euro RSCG Beijing.
