The long-time Singapore resident is set to relocate to Munich in July to take on the new role which will see her manage media agency relationships and partnerships worldwide for Novartis.

According to one media agency source, the appointment “reflects the increasing importance of Asia to multi-national companies, and the value of Asian experience”.

Presently at GSK, von Dierer is overseeing the management of media and agency relationships for the healthcare firm in the APAC region while helping to drive digital media strategy and engagement.

Prior to GSK, she spent two years at Nokia as global category manager. She has also spent two years at Motorola, plus another two years at Kraft managing indirect sourcing for marketing services.

Novartis currently works with MEC as its global media agency although recently, the Swiss firm appointed Starcom for its US$16 million Voltaren Emulgel brand media account in China.
