Following up on a campaign from May 2014, multinational telco Ooredoo again gives football superstar Lionel Messi a workout. In the earlier campaign, a group of clever kids used a remote-controlled ball to perplex the Barcelona forward. This time, the precocious inventors are fielding a full-on Messi android against local rivals.
Ad Nut is amused that the android's athletic feats, as ridiculous and gravity-defying as they are, still pale in comparison to the real Messi's jaw-dropping moves.
The campaign also includes the Stand for good website, where consumers can play a game that gives them a chance to meet Messi (the human version) while supporting some of the brand's community projects, such as Mobile Health Clinics in Indonesia, Myanmar, Algeria and Tunisia in partnership with the Leo Messi Foundation.
At this point you can also be among the very first to follow Messi Robot on Twitter.
Ad Nut is checking on which agency or agencies worked on this campaign, as Ooredoo recently concluded a review of all its partners.
