Antonio Codinach of Cegos Asia Pacific will step in as regional business director – APAC for Professional Convention Management Association - Incentive Conference & Event Society Asia-Pacific (PCMA-ICESAP). He will replace outgoing president Nigel Gaunt.

“I’m very excited by the opportunities that PCMA-ICESAP has here in the region,” said Codinach. “As [a] global provider of business event education, there’s a real sense of momentum and PCMA’s presence is growing fast throughout APAC.”

The association also welcomes Patricia Cheong as associate director for development and she will work with Codinach to support the region by forging new brand partnerships with leading business events organisations. Cheong was previously general manager at Sphere Exhibits.

This year, PCMA-ICESAP is a partner at SACEOS and the Singapore MICE Forum (SMF) on July 24. The association will livestream two SMF sessions on July 24, with Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) supporting the learning initiative.

On top of that, PCMA-ICESAP has developed an agency accreditation program which puts agencies through a consistent set of standards that could potentially consolidate the agency’s role, and ultimately maintain relationships between them and clients.

The program is made up of four parts: probity check (a check on the company and its directors), competency record (a check on management and staff), code of conduct (transparency to clients including the declaration of commission), and best practices (basic operating standards).
