HONG KONG – The Economist has launched its “World in Figures” application on iPhone and iPod, based on The Economist’s print publication of the same name.

World in Figures allows users to access essential statistics and data all around the world. The application is available globally, covering a wide range of topics. Users can view extensive data from the application in different ways and distinctively. There is also a comparison function in the application.

“The World in Figures application gives readers a chance to engage with one of our most popular books in a completely new and different way,” said Ron Diorio, vice president, product and community development, The Economist online. “It’s easily understandable and interactive nature makes it enjoyable.”

World in Figures can be purchased from the Apple iTunes store for US$0.99.
