Update: Aussie-made Dorito's spot leads all Super Bowl ads in shares

Update: This item originally ran on January 7. According to Unruly, as of February 4, Carstairs' ad is by far the most shared Super Bowl ad this year, with nearly 900,000 shares. Ad Nut has included Unruly's list of the top 10 most-shared Super Bowl ads below. Voting for the Dorito's contest has closed, and the winner, of course, will be revealed when it runs during the big game, which takes place Monday morning Asia time.

Peter Carstairs, a Melbourne film and commercial director, has won a spot among the three finalists for the annual Dorito's Crash the Super Bowl competition, which carries a top prize of US$1 million—not to mention global notoriety.

Ad Nut believes the spot stands a good chance, but it faces tough competition and will need a patriotic voting boost from the home country of its maker. One of the other finalists features dogs, which people seem to like even though they are murderous beasts, while the other has fun with the swipe-right phenomenon and has a cameo by a beloved TV actress.
