VIDEO: Howard Draft on DraftFCB's future in Asia

HONG KONG - In an exclusive interview with Media, DraftFCB's executive chairman Howard Draft discusses his plans to install "supersets of talent" in selected hubs in Asia to raise the agency's low profile in the region.

“It’s true that we don’t have the scale in Asia that we have in other parts of the world,” Draft admits. We’re not walking out of any country. What we’re looking to do is build supersets of talent in three or four hubs in this region and use that as a support mechanism.”

He adds that DraftFCB will look at acquisitions in Mainland China, and that Shanghai will undoubtedly become one of those hubs.

“It will mainly be about growing the groups, moving more international business into this region, hubbing the work with really strong key offices, and growing the business off of that skillset,” he explains.

Last month saw the departure of Raymond Chau from his role as group ECD in Hong Kong.

In August, the agency hired Noor Ashikin Aziz as digital head in Malaysia.
