Yahoo Japan wages manic, technicolor war on 'text neck'

From Japan: 'Smart stretch 360', for Yahoo Japan by Hakuhodo Kettle

(Note: View the video above using the YouTube smartphone app in order to enjoy the full experience.)

Ad Nut, for one, is happy to live in...

...A world where a disembodied head with a yellow mustache and fluffy pom-pons on his head cavorts around a pink-infused, rainbow-covered cloudscape—complete with a line of tourquoise-garbed dancers—shouting at viewers (in a friendly but nonetheless quite demanding way) to "Look at meeeeeee" and "Streeeeetch".

...A world where the above is all in the name of avoiding a stiff 'text neck' and is brought to us by a major brand-name internet company as part of a 20th-anniversary celebration.

A world where nearly 400,000 people have at least watched the video, if not actually done the exercises as intended.

...A world where the press release for the above reads in part:

The video will guide you with encouraging phrases such as “Nice stretch!” and “Good job!”, and a sexy blonde woman will replace the instructor as you are drawn into this energetic environment. Before you know it, the stretching will be finished in just about two minutes overall. This is a fun and impactful video, but it offers serious stretching under expert direction. Supervising director Yoshihito Nagahata [assistant professor in the Teikyo University Faculty of Medical Technology and director of the Japan Stretching Association] will also take the place of the instructor for a brief moment on screen, so please pay attention!

...A world where there is really such a thing as the "Japan Stretching Association".

Truly we live in an age of wonders.
