Alice Chow steps up as MediaCom Hong Kong’s new MD

HONG KONG - Alice Chow, a 20-year media veteran and long-serving GM of OMD, will depart for the MD role at MediaCom Hong Kong in March. OMD has promoted longtime business director Gary Wong to succeed Chow.

The MD role at MediaCom has been vacant since Cecilia Chan, who worked for MediaCom for more than a decade, joined Dentsu Hong Kong as client-service director in January.

A source close to OMD told Campaign Asia-Pacific that Chow is a creative person who has helped the agency win many industry awards for clients including McDonalds, MTR and Sony Electronics.

This is the second time that Chow joined MediaCom; she took a position as GM for P&G in the agency's Guangzhou office in late 2010. However, she only stayed in that role for eight months before rejoining OMD Hong Kong as GM in September 2011.

Meanwhile, Wong will report to OMD's CEO Roid Sin. Wong has experience with clients including CSL, Johnson & Johnson (Listerine), Olympus, DBS, Carlsberg, and one brand within Estée Lauder.

Neither Chow nor Sin could be reached for comment in time for publication.
