AMEX Global Business Travel acquires B2B services company

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has completed the acquisition of Hogg Robinson Group plc (HRG), a global B2B services company specialising in travel management.

The partnership means that both companies will pool their range of products and services as well as offer a wider geographic footprint. In preparation for the acquisition, American Express GBT will utilise the complementary footprints of each company and leverage existing infrastructure and tech capabilities.

“I look forward to integrating our companies and combining the vast experience and expertise of both. We’re proud to deliver enhanced value to all stakeholders,” said Doug Anderson, CEO of American Express GBT.

Meanwhile, Joanna Macleod, American Express GBT’s EVP, Traveler Care, has been appointed chief transformation officer to facilitate the integration of both companies.
