The appointment, effective 1April, will see Anish relocate from Ho Chi Minh City to Jakarta.

Mervyn Cheo, group CEO and managing director of Phibious Vietnam, said Anish has “taken great strides” within the agency and has made “significant contributions” to the growth of its business in Vietnam in the last 15 months.

“We have now entrusted him with the responsibility of continuing the same for us in Indonesia,” he added. “We believe Anish would put his entrepreneurial zeal and strategic understanding of the business to good use, and help us win big in Southeast Asia’s largest market.”

Anish joined Phibious Vietnam as general manager & director of integration in January 2015 and was promoted to deputy managing director in June 2015.

He has been looking after growth initiatives in Indonesia since then, besides managing business in Vietnam, and led the Indonesia office to win the Gold Independent Agency of the Year at the Campaign Asia Agency of the Year Awards 2015.

Anish described his time with Phibious as “the most exciting and rewarding stint” of his career and has spent the last few months studying the communications landscape, business environment and the consumer paradigm in Indonesia, in preparation for his new role.

“I look forward to build a strong team, a profound culture and formidable client partnerships to run a growth-focused and profitable operation in Indonesia,” he added.
