BEIJING - CCTV.com has set up an Olympic Copyright Protection Squad in conjunction with nine partners.

The digital arm of the state broadcaster will work with internet firms such as Sohu, Sina and NetEase, according to reports in China.

The initiative involves a hotline for reporting breaches of copyright.

CCTV.com, which holds online broadcast rights and has been selling them to other online video firms, has already begun clamping down on Olympics copyright infringement. Earlier this week it brought a case against file-sharing software company Xunlei over footage of the torch relay.
