Bruce Shu, MD of Grayling China, is currently in Singapore and supervising the agency's offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok. The agency is not replacing Davis but instead recruiting at a senior level.
In a video interview with Media in April, CEO of Grayling Michael Murphy stressed that Grayling was "far too small" and is determined to grow the business. The agency is in the process of applying for a license to open a new office in Shanghai.
According to a statement to Media: ‘Grayling is putting strong focus and support behind an expansion of our offering in the Asia Pacific region. To achieve this, we are opening in China, bringing additional specialist practice skills to the region and actively pursuing acquisitions. These organisational changes have led to a flatter regional management structure being implemented.’
As a result, Davies has decided to move on in pursuit of a new challenge, after playing an important part in building Grayling for over 13 years, the last two of which were in Asia.
“In the short term I am not moving anywhere, but will be taking an extended break with my family over the summer. I am considering a number of options after that. I have enjoyed my time at Grayling and look back at my 13 years in the UK and in Asia with pride,” said Davies.
Chris Davies resigns as MD of Grayling Asia after 13 years
SINGAPORE - Chris Davies (pictured), managing director of Grayling Asia, has confirmed that he has resigned after working at the agency for 13 years, effective in June.
