Kien Hoe, who has worked with Saatchi & Saatchi and Ogilvy in both Malaysia and China, will be charged with passing on creative thinking to challenge conventions into the agency.

Kien Hoe’s creativity has helped pave the way for global and local companies in China, TBWA said.  His appointment follows the announcement of digital specialist Dwayne Koh joining the team at Tequila Shanghai as group creative director on July 22.

“Having Kien Hoe and Dwayne on board will have an enormous effect on other team members by inspiring and challenging the traditionally-based minds, changing the way they think to come up with the 'disruptive idea' that gets across different forms of media arts,” said Edmund Choe, TBWA Greater China co-president and head of creative.

Kien Hoe commented on his appointment, “I am very excited to be part of a network that has created some of the best creative work in the world for clients. I want to do the same at TBWA Shanghai – to make it one of the most creative agency networks in the world.”
