CWT announces key hires in ANZ

Michelle Sargent is named as the director and commercial leader of the meeting and events division.

CWT Meetings & Events, the meeting and events division of Carlson Wagonlit Travel has announced three key appointments for its ANZ team with Michelle Sargent taking the helm as the director and commercial leader. She was formerly the general manager of Sydney-based Platinum Event Solutions.

“Over the coming months we’ll be focused on establishing ourselves as a leader in end-to-end M&E services and solutions in Australia and New Zealand. This includes Strategic Meetings Management (SMM)—where we are already a dominant player in this market—as well as managing events, group travel, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions,” Sargent said.

Meanwhile, Heather Lawson will come on board as the national operations manager, and Ben Ogden has been named as the senior event manager.

Tony Wagner, vice president, Americas & South Pacific, CWT Meetings & Events noted the solid market position of Australia along with news of the hires.
