Ko officially comes on board in early March and reports to Iris Lo, managing director/executive creative director.

Ko (pictured) will be responsible for overall account management of key accounts including Bausch and Lomb, Hong Kong Trade and Development Council, Cigna Insurance, Chinese Pharmaceutical and leading new business for the Hong Kong office.

“This is a key hire reinforcing the agency and I believe, with Benny’s experience, he can help strengthen the whole team,” said Iris Lo, managing director/executive creative director. “This is a first step with more recruitment to come in the future.”

Ko has 12 years' agency experience, most recently with Contract Advertising, a subsidiary of JWT Group, in a parallel role as managing partner. Before this, he served as senior account director at David Communication, a subsidiary of Ogilvy & Mather. Benny’s previous client portfolio includes PCCW Mobile/0060, PPS, DBS Bank, Hong Kong Land, Cheung Kong Property, Watsons Store, Shangri-La Hotel Group and Adidas.

According to Lo: “Ko and I worked together at Bates on accounts like New World Mobility and Mother’s Choice. Account servicing is not just managing accounts, Ko puts his heart in his job and has taste and appreciation for great creative work. He goes the extra mile in getting suitable and free media exposure. Now I can focus on managing the creative team and the operation of the Hong Kong office while Ko will focus on the account management side.”

“The partnership with Iris is something that I am looking forward to,” added Ko. “I am glad to be part of the DraftFCB team.”

Earlier this year in January, Simone Tam, MD of DraftFCB Hong Kong, resigned and joined DDB Hong Kong.
