Fiat calls media pitch in China

A 4A media agency executive told Campaign Asia-Pacific that the pitch is for media agencies only and will be held soon but declined to give further details. Guangdong Advertising is the incumbent, according to an unnamed source.

According to an Autocar article, John Burton, general manager of the GAC-Fiat joint venture, who joined the company on 1 March, confirmed at the Shanghai Motor Show that the company will be launching a hatchback version of its Viaggio saloon.

The new model will be built alongside the saloon version that Fiat assembles in China with GAC, Autocar reported. (Like Campaign Asia-Pacific, Autocar is published by Haymarket Media.)

GAC Fiat, established in 2010 in the central China city of Changsha, is a 50-50 joint venture between Fiat and China's Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group.
