Fiona Gordon to helm Ogilvy Singapore, Stephen Mangham to head Indonesia

SINGAPORE - Ogilvy & Mather has announced key management moves with Fiona Gordon and Stephen Mangham to head up Singapore and PT Indo Ad in Indonesia respectively.

Fiona Gordon is promoted to group chairman Singapore, and Stephen Mangham will lead PT Indo Ad's ambitious growth strategy in Indonesia. The company says it is in a bid to accelerate revenue opportunities in these two important markets.

Gordon relocates from Hong Kong to take the reins from Mangham on 5 September, 2011. Prior to her promotion to group chairman, Ogilvy & Mather Singapore, Gordon led the agency’s Global Brand Management (GBM) matrix, a role she held for two years.

Mangham will move to Jakarta as group technical advisor, PT Indo Ad on 3 October 2011. He  succeeds Renuka Jaypal.

Jaypal, whose next role has yet to be announced, led PT Indo Ad for four years, growing the agency by 70 per cent. “We’d like to thank Renuka for her leadership and contribution to the Indonesian office,” said Paul Heath, CEO Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific.

Describing Mangham as having been a first-class leader in Singapore for the last six years, Heath added that his proven track record, excellent leadership skills and broad international experience in emerging markets will help (the network) drive strong business results and fuel growth.

During Mangham’s tenure, Ogilvy & Mather Singapore has grown from 240 to nearly 600 employees; achieved through the significant strengthening of its PR, CRM and digital practices, as well as the creation of its Redworks operation. Before moving to Singapore, Stephen was managing director, Ogilvy & Mather (Advertising) Taiwan, and prior to this appointment he worked across several Eastern European markets, as well as London and Frankfurt, with Saatchi & Saatchi.

Indonesia, the fourth most populated market in the world, is key to Ogilvy & Mather’s Asia-Pacific growth strategy. With the market pushing to reach an economic growth rate of 6.5 and up to 6.9 per cent in 2012, it leads the ASEAN region. 

On Gordon’s appointment, Heath said that her impressive leadership qualities built their GBM community into a growth engine for our regional business. “As Fiona steps into one of our most challenging roles in the region; to lead a flagship agency in one of the most competitive markets, I’m confident she will do a wonderful job and meet the objective of steering this office’s development as a world class hub,” he said.
