Choi will initially be tasked with launching the company in the Hong Kong market, and will later work on extending Touchmedia’s other international operations.
Choi is a well-known media veteran, with more than 25 years of experience in the media industry in Greater China and across Asia-Pacific. She has been the only Asian to lead one of the big three regional media agency networks in the region, as Asia-Pacific chief executive officer for OMD.
She spent 12 years building OMD in Asia, and prior to that helped found ZenithOptimedia in Hong Kong.
Choi, who departed from OMG last year, said she was excited about her new role. “I am excited with the challenge of launching a new media in Hong Kong, which transforms a traditional media into an advanced, innovative communication platform to revolutionise advertising and the role media operators used to fill," she said.
Micky Fung, founder and chief executive officer of Touchmedia explained, “Hong Kong is a high priority for us and, with Maggie’s experience and leadership, we are very confident of the future”.
The company now has operations in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Hong Kong.
