YouTube Play, a collaboration between the Guggenheim Museum, HP and YouTube, invites users to submit their own short creative video at http://youtube.com/play. A panel of professional artists will select the top 20 to simultaneously go on display at Guggenheim Museums in Berlin, Bilbao and Venice.

"With this online global initiative, we're not looking for what's now, we're looking for what's next," said Nancy Spector, deputy director and chief curator of the Guggenheim Foundation.

She noted that ‘moving image' has created a critical shift in contemporary art practices in the last two decades. It is "the power of the internet to catalyze and disseminate new forms of digital media, including online video."

Tracey Trachta, director of marketing communications initiatives at HP, added: "HP is moved by the imagination of digital artists, and we want to encourage the creation, sharing and appreciation of online video as an art form."

Public relations agency Hoffman is leading promotion of the event in the region for Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan.
