Herbalife shakes things up in Brisbane

More than 1,300 Herbalife top sellers meet in Australia's Sunshine State.

Herbalife shakes things up in Brisbane

The Queensland capital welcomed 1,300 Herbalife delegates in September as the global health shake and dietary supplements brand celebrated its Asia-Pacific Future President’s Team Retreat.

Herbalife’s top performers in APAC attended the five-day retreat (September 16-20), which included leadership training at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC).

The company’s renowned executive chairman, Michael O. Johnson, also came to Brisbane to deliver a keynote address and led a morning bike ride around Brisbane to raise funds for the Herbalife Family Foundation.

The Brisbane Convention Bureau worked closely with BCEC and Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) to secure the event.

Brisbane Convention Bureau acting general manager, Juliet Alabaster, says the mega incentive represents an economic boost of more than AUD3 million (USD2.4 million) and will help to showcase the city to lucrative incentive markets out of Greater China, India and South East Asia.

“Hosting this Herbalife Nutrition retreat for the first time was an opportunity to showcase our ‘new world city’ with its first-rate facilities and great quality of life.

“The event took place as we continue to position Brisbane as a top incentive destination and gear up to host Tourism Australia’s global incentive event ‘Dreamtime’ in December.”

TEQ chief executive, Leanne Coddington, says the city’s climate and relaxed lifestyle are key drawcards for international incentive groups.

“Throughout the conference schedule, delegates could explore what Brisbane has to offer—from the culinary delights of Brisbane’s flourishing dining scene to a stroll through South Bank’s parklands—giving them just a taste of the lifestyle Brisbane has to offer.”
