The appointment comes barely two weeks after the company hired Joe Zandstra as its new regional director.

In his new role, Chan will lead creative efforts for clients such as Heineken, Audi, Adidas and Emirates. He will report to Subha Naidu, creative director at iris Singapore.

Chan was previously at DDB Singapore as associate group head, where he focused largely on the McDonald’s account. Prior to that role, Chan spent more than five years at McCann Erickson Malaysia, working on brands like Proton, Coca-Cola, DiGi, Nespray and Neslac.

“After working mostly on McDonalds, his belief that beef is sacred haunted him every night," Naidu said. "So it's nice for him to be able to have creative and spiritual freedom to do what's right."
