Chau (pictured) started his new job yesterday, and will report to Patricio De Matteis, MD of Accenture Interactive Asia-Pacific based in Singapore.

Chau had been with SapientNitro China since December 2011 when he joined as vice-president and MD, until his resignation at the end of July.  Prior to that, he worked for MRM under McCann Worldgroup for 12 years, resigning in October 2011.

Chau declined to comment on the move. A Shanghai-based agency source commented that while SapientNitro is a tech-oriented agency, Accenture was likely to offer a broader strategic view of the market. Chau will oversee Greater China from Hong Kong.
