In his new role, Ellis will manage the company’s strategy and business development. He will work closely with TheTMSWay’s co-founder, Frederick Saurat and Bernhard Glock, the former vice-president of global media and communication at Procter & Gamble who joined the company as non-executive director earlier this year.

Ellis departs Star Group after two years with the network. During his tenure at Star, Ellis oversaw its restructure into three business units including Star India, Star Greater China and Fox International Channels.

Joining him at the company is Ben Money, Fox Asia’s vice-president of research and strategic sales, who becomes TheTMSway’s managing director of strategic sales and data management.

“We are a young company with strong technology assets and a clear vision about the future of the mobile as a medium, which must be considered as a real time bridge between brand media campaigns and consumers,” Saurat said of the appointments. “I believe the success of a company is largely based on its team and with Bernard Glock, John and Ben we are starting to create a ‘dream team’.”

The team will look to develop, monetise and promote mobile business for clients looking to extend their digital presence to mobile.

Separately, TheTMSway further aims to launch a dedicated social-network service this quarter that will allow clients to deliver mobile coupons, invitations and rewards directly from social posts.
