Lim (pictured) came on board this month. He is based in Shanghai and reporting to Bob van den Oord, vice president, sales and marketing, for the Langham Hospitality Group.

In this new role, Lim will work closely with the group's existing hotel properties to facilitate and direct new region-specific marketing initiatives, and capture market share for new hotels, ensuring regional opportunities are maximised.

A Singaporean with over 20 years experience in China and key Asian markets, Lim has held senior leadership positions in the travel and hospitality industries, and has a strong understanding of the market, garnered through sales, contracting and supplier relation roles, the company said.

His CV includes stints as regional director of global sales in Greater China and Taiwan for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, general manager at The Island Club Sanya,  and Asia Pacific head of hotel contracting at Gulllivers Travel Associates.

Langham Hospitality Group currently has four hotels in China, with six more new hotels in the pipeline over the coming few years.
