She is based in Beijing and will report to the brand’s chief marketing officer Shi-wei Fang.

Zhang was most recently vice-president of Shunya BBDO in Beijing for three years and claims 12 years of international-agency experience in China. Prior to that, she was strategic director at Euro RSCG and has also worked for McCann, DDB, and Leo Burnett.

During her time within the agencies, Zhang has worked with local and international brands including American Express, China Telecom, Deutsch Bank, FAW-Volkswagen, Motorola, and Yili Dairy.

“It’s my first time to work on a client’s side, and I have never work on a sports brand account before, but Li Ning is a dynamic, youthful and strong-growth 20-year-old brand,” Zhang said. “Strategy-oriented brand development, and in particular local brands, has always been my core work philosophy. My broad experience in research, communications, event management and my 4A-agency experience and network could help Li Ning in delivering strong integrated campaigns.”
