Mediacorp appoints four directors

SINGAPORE – Singapore media company MediaCorp has appointed Thomas Ng, Pari Sara Shirazi, Chan Heng Kee and Ahmad Nizam as its board of directors, with immediate effect.

Robert Tomlin and Shirlene Noordin, directors at MediaCorp, stepped down on 4 August, after serving six years with the board.

Ng is the co-founder of GGV Capital and a founding investor of Alibaba.com, SAVI Technologies, Oculex Pharmaceuticals, AAC and Ku6.com.

Meanwhile, Shirazi is the president and founder of Tisch School of the Arts Asia and concurrently the vice dean at Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, a position she has held since 1999. 

Chan was appointed the permanent secretary for Ministry of the Community, Youth and Sports (MCYS) in April.  Prior to his current appointment, he was the CEO of Singapore Workforce Development Agency. 

Nizam is an associate director at Straits Law Practice LLC and associate mediator of the Singapore Mediation Centre.
