Ogilvy has appointed B Ramanathan (known as 'Ram') as chief executive in Indonesia. He will also continue in his current role as CEO of Bates CHI & Partners Indonesia.

The news follows Anne Ridwan’s announcement to staff last week that she stepping down in January 2019 to take personal time off. She has been in the CEO seat since April 2017.

Ram is a 19-year veteran of Ogilvy, who has led the Mumbai and Kolkata offices prior to taking his role at Bates CHI & Partners Indonesia. "He has such a passion for brands, our clients, and our people," Kent Wertime, Ogilvy’s APAC chief executive, said in a release. "I am very much looking forward to our next phase of continued growth in Indonesia with Ram at the helm.”

Ridwan led the company through "an important period of change and transformation", Wertime said. "She took on the leadership of this transition with hard work, care for our clients, concern for our staff, and real integrity. I have truly appreciated her efforts and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”
