Ogilvy has appointed Reed Collins as chief creative officer for Asia, an expansion from his former North Asia CCO role following yesterday's departure of the South and Southeast Asia CCO, Sonal Dabral. In addition, Ogilvy announced leadership appointments impacting India, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Japan.

Collins joined the agency in 2013 and served as CCO in Hong Kong before being promoted to CCO for North Asia at the start of 2019.

The other changes are as follows:

  • Kainaz Karmakar, Harshad Rajadhyaksha and Sukesh Nayak have been promoted to co-chief creative officers for Ogilvy India.
  • Sarah-Leith Izzard has returned to Ogilvy as regional ECD following a stint with Jung von Matt in Germany. Based in Hong Kong, she will work alongside Collins focusing on the agency's largest clients in Asia.
  • Chris Riley, previously chairman of Ogilvy Singapore, has been promoted to group chairman for Singapore and Malaysia. The agency said the promotion maximises the impact of its resources given that clients are increasingly looking to coordinate operations across both markets.
  • Nizwani Shahar, who was co-CEO in Malaysia alongside Campbell Cannon, has been promoted to be the sole CEO in Malaysia. Cannon will remain in Malaysia, moving to "an important regional client role" to be announced, according to the agency.
  • Soames Hines has been appointed CEO in Vietnam, replacing Duc Nguyen who has left the agency to pursue new interests.
  • Sean Palmer has been promoted to general manager of Geometry Ogilvy Japan following the departure of Jack Mickle, who is leaving the agency for a new position. Plamer joins the executive leadership team led by CEO Ichiro Ota.
  • Remington Ji, an Ogilvy veteran of more than 12 years, has re-joined the network as chief delivery officer for North Asia, based in Beijing. Ji will partner with Amir Mireskandari, chief delivery officer for South Asia, and Alexander Lee will leave the network to pursue other interests.

“As we look to the new year, we’re continuing our charge to meet the changing needs of our clients," said Kent Wertime, co-chief executive of Asia. "This group of individuals has decades of proven experience within our network, and whilst we continue to develop a pipeline of new next generation talent, we could not be more proud of individuals such as these who have built long-term successful careers with us as we continue to evolve our modern marketing skillsets needed for the future.”
